Rise before sunrise for pick-up at your lodge or tented camp for transfer to the balloon launch site, where you can watch the balloon being inflated in preparation for the flight. As the sun rises your balloon lifts off! This magical experience floating above the tree tops offers expansive views of the plains and its wildlife in the peace and serenity of the early morning. Following your flight you will be treated to a full English breakfast in the African bush. Available in the Serengeti and Tarangire National Parks in limited areas.
All national parks in Tanzania have wilderness airstrips, of which most are serviced by regularly scheduled safari light aircraft. Flying to or from a park is a fast and comfortable way of traveling, and offers a birds-eye view of the magnificent game-rich savanna. Ideal for those with a limited amount of time or seeking quick access to remote areas. We often recommend this option one-way during your safari, or as a direct link from safari country to the tropical beaches of Zanzibar.
After a hot, dusty game drive or long day of air travel, treat yourself to a spa treatment to re-hydrate, restore and re-energize. Offerings range from massage to skin treatments to exfoliating scrubs, including those that tap the benefits of local plants, minerals, and healing rituals for a complete sensory journey. You may book a spa treatment yourself at your lodge with 24 hours notice, or let us know in advance if you would like to include it in your itinerary. Not every accommodation offers this service, and specific treatments may vary.
Canoeing on African lakes
A peaceful and scenic canoeing safari can be a nice break from the all-day enclosure of the vehicle safari, allowing visitors to explore the lake surroundings, getting exercised in some of the most beautiful locations in the country. Enjoy a 2- 2.5 hours water excursion on the shores of Lake Manyara (if water level is sufficient) and pass near thousands of pink flamingos in the shallow waters. Or, canoe within the freshwater crater lakes of the Momela Lakes in Arusha National park and be amazed by the forests and the magnificent crater of Mount. Meru nearby. You may observe buffalo, bushbuck, giraffe, hippopotamus and many water birds living in and around to the water.
A trained canoe guide will accompany your canoe safari.
