Race Day: Sunday February 28
The 8th Annual Kilimanjaro Marathon and Half Marathon will be held Sunday February 28, 2010 in Moshi Town, the gateway to Kilimanjaro. For the race of a lifetime join world class East Africans and runners from around the globe in this annual road race held at the foot of Kilimanjaro. The course starts and finishes at 3,000 feet and is 97 percent on paved roads past rural villages, through Moshi Town, and into a mountainside coffee plantation, all with inspiring views of Kilimanjaro.
This marathon adventure package is provided exclusively by Summit Expeditions and Nomadic Experience (SENE). It includes three days of acclimatization and preparation prior to the race at 6,000 feet (higher than race elevation) with Simon Mtuy, world class ultra-marathoner and double world record holder for fastest ascent-descent of Mount Kilimanjaro. Accommodations at SENE’s private guest cottages in Mbahe Village in the foothills of Kilimanjaro.

SENE Trail Running Training Camps
When not guiding climbs up Kilimanjaro, Simon trains and competes in ultra marathons. He also holds the Guinness World Record for the fastest solo unsupported speed run up and down Kilimanjaro. He loves to share his accumulated knowledge and experience with others as they enjoy running together on the beautiful slopes of Kilimanjaro.
Simon periodically holds three-day workshops at SENE's Mbahe Farm facility. For those interested in learning more about trail running, or who want to develop their fitness and endurance, or who just want to experience the joys of running in this beautiful spot, we invite you to sign up.
